Kyra remembers performing onstage for the first time at five years old.
In a red dress and tights and flats, she made her stage debut as one of the Cratchit children in a musical version of A Christmas Carol. From then on, she has wanted to share stories.
She grew up on a small farm in rural upstate New York, milking cows and riding horses and singing with her family. Her love of acting blossomed throughout her high school years, during which she pursued performance opportunities on both school and regional stages, and then followed her to Yale University, where she double majored in Evolutionary Biology and Theatre Studies. She graduated magna cum laude with distinction in both majors, a continued passion for performance, and a newfound love of directing.
Kyra now lives in Manhattan. Her theatermaking experience covers a broad range of genres, from straight plays to contemporary musical theater. She is also an experienced collaborator in the creation of new theatrical works from both a performer's and a director's perspective.
Kyra is passionate about connecting with others through performance by bringing stories to life on stage and screen. She believes that acting is the practice, the expression, and the ongoing affirmation of our fundamental humanity.
